Car Free Baltimore is Mark R. Brown, AICP, and sometimes other inspired writers. I’m a city planner, complete streets designer, livability advocate, rock & roll enthusiast, and amateur photographer. And those are just my day jobs.
This blog started as a chronicle of my trials and tribulations after I decided to sell my car in 2010 and depend solely on cycling and transit in Baltimore. It has since evolved into a platform for articles covering sustainable city planning and transportation, public health, government policy, and interviews with interesting people.
Some recent blurbs from enthusiastic readers:
“Gross, grossly self focused and utterly engrossing.” – Charlie Rose
“What a perfect companion for my afternoon milk bath” – Nicolas
“I haven’t felt like this in years” – Betty
“If my dog could read, this is the blog I would want him to read to me.” – some dude in Baltimore
The personal views and opinions expressed in this blog are solely my own and do not represent official policy of any organization or government agency.
